is 1k rpm normal at idle?
i have a misfire on all cylinder and random misfire if distributor was turned a few times would it be the cause of the misfire?
also have a bad cat code p0420
car also overheats within 2hour drive

 

1K sounds fast for idle.
What do you mean turned the dist? It probably not cause a misfire.
Ok, what is wrong with the cat?
Ok, it overheats there could be any number of reasons for it to overheat. Tstat, radiator issue, clog in the system, leaks, low fluid, an engine working harder than it was designed to, air to the radiator, missing air guides, front end damage.

Last tune up?
Check compression?
Post all check engine lights.

 

Last tune up not sure brought it last year, I changed spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter, fuel pump, only codes I have are misfire and bad cat, p0300 p0301 p0302 p0303 p0304 p0420

 

Reset your ECU. Do the codes come back? What trim is your car?

Do a compression test.
