2000 ITR rolling shell $800??
Found this rolling shell on craigslist, car fax says its a 2000 Type R, I'm wondering would this be a good deal for $800 if the body is straight? id love to resurrect this Type R but would like some insight from the Type R guys.

He said it was painted, it was originally PY, he sent me pics of the engine bay you can see somone paited thebay but not 100% inbetween like the motor mount brackets and on the lower bottom of the frame you can see the original PY paint.
Ask him pics of the cluster
Does it have interior? If so itll have the badge plate
Look and the sway bar, and measure it. Itr has 22mm on the rear i think
Why is it 4 lug? Unless he wanted to keep the 5 lug himself?
Does it have sunroof? Why no spoiler? Its came with that spoiler stock, im sure of.
The vin is stamped on the firewall towards the top. My civic is like that so i assume tegs are the same
The itr has structural improvements over the regular teg, comfirm all of these, and you may or may not have a legit r. But if not, its still a good price for a shell.

ferio, your saying a lot of useless info since it a shell and parts are missing.
OP you will just have to check it in person to know the truth

this is the best reply on here. you guys know people do paint cars, and sometimes people also steal them as well. explains a lot if that's the actual case here.
Wasn't the R the only one without side molding?
The pic is kinda crappy but it looks like a no-sunroof and no side molding chassis. Could well be an R but still seems like a good deal even if it's just an RS.

sinces its repainted moldings could easily be shaved and painted over.... and sunroof delete or replace is fairly easy.... only way to tell is to look at the door jam sticker and the firewall vin# and windshield
Some things that seem fishy to me:
- 4 lug
- Looks like 14" rims on it, ITR's can only go as low as 15" with the brakes.
- Why does it have an AC button? AC is very uncommon in ITR's.
- If someone went through the trouble of repainting even the interior this ugly dark green, why would they half-*** it with missing so much yellow? Seems to me like they may have sprayed yellow to create an illusion.
- The climate control cluster is from a 94-97 (Matches the front bumper, why would it have a 94-97 front bumper AND a 94-97 climate cluster?). Here's what a 98-01 cluster looks like, notice the Blue to Red fade pattern.
My advice:
- Check for the VIN that is stamped into the firewall, see if that matches the VIN he sent you.
- Check the rear trailing arms, ITR ones are a ton thicker than the other models.
- This is probably a long shot, but ask if you can take some sandpaper to a small spot somewhere unnoticeable on the interior of the car and sand down the paint. See if the green or the yellow is the bottom layer.

What is so fishy about 4 lug on a Type R? Many stolen R's get rebuilt using 4 out because it's cheaper, by the looks of all the misc. parts on this she'll, it's probably been rebuilt once as a stolen recovery.
What is the title status anyway?

it was probably parted out for 5 lug conversion, and they just put the donor cars 4 lug to make it rolling shell..... good deal any way you look at it.....
Verify door tags, they have to match the vin on firewall and dash.
I see the phoenix yellow paint, it looks like someone wanted the itr body but it looks like someone cheaped out on proper engine painting skills.

The rear crossmember does not mount on any other integra, you could weld the mounting brackets on, but it would be an obvious add on. Vin tags on the doors are pointless as they are stickers & the car has been painted.
The lack of Vin stickers on body components will tell you nothing.
Check the vin on the firewall. Even if someone tried to pull a fast one & weld it in, make it look good then paint over it, they wouldn't have put any time into the back side, check for welds there.

Those photos clearly indicate that is an R chassis that is hacked together to get rolling.
As long as its not hot, it's a steal.
Why is this not sold yet?
