Yes. Use the intake, exhaust, distributor, ECU, etc from the B2 though. Just use the '99 head.

Not if you use the correct component to offset the difference.

I'm ignorant - what is the advantage of a 1.6 head on a d15b2?

None, but I believe his head has some issue with it and he has a spare Y7 head that is in good shape. I think it is more of a 'get it running again' and not performance.

B2 is A dpfi head it sux a fat one. the y7 all though I am not a fan has the best STOCK valve springs and cam a notec has available.

you will need to make sure you get the correct components to time it, head bolts need to be a mix matched set also.

my question is what ecu are you going to use a pm6 will blow your engine, a obd1 p06 will blow your engine. it will force you into tuning it. if I didnt scare you off yet the hopefully when i say it aint worth it you will listen.

my suggestion is a d15b7 head with a pm6 ecu with a a6 cam, then down the road a Y7 cam I/H/E, and a tune as a upgrade should you care to. then no complicated search and mix matching required.

Or just pick up another B2 for $300 and run it till it dies. They are cheap motors and very plentiful.

DPFI isn't dictated by which head is used, it's dictated by which manifold and ECU is being used (and distributor if you want to be technical). Also, a D15B2 head is the same casting as a D15B7 head as well as a D16A6 head.

Do you have any links showing that using the above mentioned ECUs will "blow" up the engine with the OPs suggested combo?

yes but all have different valves, springs, cam with the A6 (along with the later B7) being the best springs, and y7 best stock notec cam available. running any engine too lean over a extended period of time will result in major damage, be it valves, pistons, rings, somethings going to melt and fail so if you cant afford a tune then you need to stick with the ecu for the cam.

typical mini me timing componets cause the block is shorter

i run a gates T143 on my d15b7 mini me. IIRC double check me you need 1 96 and up head bolt and the rest are stock size for 88-95. it is the bolt in the pass rear that needs the shorter 96-up bolt, the block needs a restirctor for all NON vtec engines, if its a vtec head remove the restrictor. your current obd0 dizzy should be a bolt on deal, so the PM6 long story short you use the A/C portion of the board to control Vtec(if thats where your heading), this can only be achieved though simple wire harness mods and tuning. PM me if you have any more questions
