Post My Girls 1989 honda civic si w/DOHC B16 with A/C.

Well its been awhile since last time i posted so i thought i would Share some pictures of my Girls 1989 Honda Civic Si with a Semi Built B16a with A/C which blows Super cold.

Bare with me it took some time and research to sort of get the civic ready for my girl

Here we have my girls civic and my Db1 my girls civic waiting with No engine but this white little civic still looks Happy and clean and my girls civic didnt have to wait long for the NEW engine to be installed.

Her civic has put in some work with the Stock D16a6 engine which we still have and is in our sons civic which i will get into later.

My girls civic @ idrc fontana d16a6 76mm bore with a Delta 272 with tuning her best was 15.49 and A/C was on in her civic SHE had a COOL run i guess you could say.

thing is so clean, but the way it looks on those wheels and the height don't go well at all with it. where are the bay and interior pics?

Super clean, but man, that rear wheel looks horrible (especially evident in the 3rd and 4th pic). I guess I'm getting old but extreme negative camber just looks ridiculously dumb to me.

I am the total opposite and want my wheels on all my cars totally zeroed out camber wise for aesthetic purposes.

But still super clean Si. I love the bumper paint schemes on those early EF Si's with the black top and painted bottom.

And what's the story with that AWESOME looking guy in the 3rd pic?

Couldn't rear camber be the cheap mans way of less tire contact for drag racing? Just wondering.

^^^ What he sort of posted , The rear wheels were set that way for less tire contact my girls times changed normal setting look et was 16.00 flat with the A/C on got back to the pits set the wheels different what everyone sees in the above pictures and VIOLA my girl runs a et of 15.43 with the A/C on.

side note track was super sticky that event all sort of cars were breaking cv axles and tranmissions take a GOOD look at track when my girl was @ the stage light.

What are typical times for full interior non-AC B16s?
16sec seems ... meh... like a stock economy car.

16sec et was with a 76mm bore d16a6 with tuning and the A/C was on.

15.43sec was with same 76mm bore d16a6 with tuning and A/C was on only change was messing with the rear tire settings.

I told my girl to make the runs with the A/C off but she said it gets hot in the car waiting.LOL

With her NEW set up I plan to run 13.99 to 14.00 sec et's which is a DOHC B16a block 81mm bore p30 style piston with custom Rods with gsr 87.4mm crank oil squirters need to BE ADDRESS also , BUT in other words a SLEEPER B16a which i think is a POOR MANS type R.

The cylinder head is a 99-00 stock type R still p30 cast but this is a Real Stock type R cylinder head complete even the Cams.

Intake manifold was FREE part of the head package and got the intake gasket for FREE from importautopros.

I didnt want to build a easy to find b16 pr3 head for $1000 ,So I found a Low Mile Real Deal p30 cast type R cylinder head.

I will post more pictures later.

Oh ok - I was confused with the title of the post and how you mentioned that the car was b16 equiped in your first sentence.
I get it now.

Here are some pictures of the engine bay DOHC B16a with A/C. And yes the valve cover was red but I painted it BLACK

and yes that is a REAL SPOON radiator CAP I just took the spoon logo off and Yes that is a LS 0BD1 Distributor that I MADE fit,

Hope everyone enjoys.

This is WHAT I did and it worked for me SO don't get mad if this don't work for you.

SO to use the stock A/C pump with the stock bracket i used a traction bar for extra clearence for fitment.

Also the stock bracket to the block I only use 1 14mm bolt and small custom bracket with 10mm and 12mm nut and bolt ,but the pump to the stock bracket i use all 4 bolts it's holding.

the tracks i have been to will kick you off for running ac on the track, one drop of condensation comes off the bottom and you are done. But i wont go anywhere without ac anymore....

engine bay looks good and very stock looking fit.
