I have an eg dx with a D16Z6 swap, currently I'm having progressingly worse startup issues, currently it will start and go to 1k rps then immediately drop to 200-300, throw a cel, then pop back up to normal, all in 3 seconds tops, does it when hot or cold. The reason I'm worried is its progressively gotten to this point.

I recently changed iacv and cleaned the fitv (to fix bouncing Idle on warm up) possibly creating this problem?

 

Is there a good reason that you didn't post the CEL code?

 

Yea the cel is only there for a second, like when you stall a car, it literally just flashes when the car is at 200-300 rpms

 

When CEL turns on, leave engine running while you jump the service connector.

 

So even if the light doesn't show anymore I can still pull the code?

Edit: Just checked for vacuum leaks on iacv and fitv, gunna put some coolant in, also I have another fitv, but I'm really feeling like this is a fuel sending issue

 

That's what I'm saying, as long as you don't turn the engine off.

 

I'll do that when I'm off work and get back to yall, also, idling is a little funky now

 

Not having the cel flash anymore, but things are getting progressively worse. Starter sometimes has to turn for a little longer than normal, also if not given gas engine will stall out completely immediately. My list of things to change/test/replace

Spark Plugs
Fuel Pump
Iacv
Fitv
Ground valve cover better (was loose)
Main relay
