Default HELP please-if any one can offer advice?

i have a 96 gsr and it has a horrible tapping noise coming from the engine and i cant go over 25 mph. you can feel it hit the valve cover and it seems like its the valves but what causes this problem. i had a guy fix the problem and it ran fine for one day then it came back again-wasted $500. he replaced the rocker arm and changed my main engine bearings. i do have after market products including dc headers and CAI and cams. but before the engine made the noise the check engine light came on and the code was for the o2 sensor and i just kept ressetting the ecu(thought it was because of the headers and the CAI) can i get some help fellows-i would gladly appreciate it.

doubt its the pistons. the timing is most likely off. my friend said it might be the lifters-even though i told them they're brand new. the mech. told me i didnt break the parts in correctly, but i held it under 3000 rpms and went under 40 mph the whole time-and he told me i wasnt supposed to go over 35 mph. im trying to get a little information and fix the prob myself (my *** is broke) apprecitiate your thoughts and if any body else can give an opinion it will help me out. thanks.

Yea Im gonna check the timing, do a compression test and maybe a leakdown and check the valves- when i get a feeler gauge on monday and adjust where needed. If the noise is still there im trashing the B18 C. I just can't believe I paid somebody to end up in the same spot i was in.
