Hi, im trying to set the timing on my F23A1, but there's a catch.. my original head was stolen after i took it out to replace the gasket. Bought a new one along with the distributor and now im trying to figure out how i can make sure the no.1 piston is on the compression stroke when I put it at TDC, I need to set the timing before I put the new head on, or is there an easier way I could be going about this?

 

Set crank to tdc using notch on lower timing pulley and set cam to tdc with arrow up.

 

thats it?? just do that and set the head down on there huh?
