-Started with a working tachless Cx cluster. Went to junkyard and grabbed a 95 Ex automatic cluster with a tach.
-Followed this writeup to swap the cluster and odometer

-The gauges function as they should, warning lights included, just no backlight.
-Swapped all the bulbs from my old cluster to the new, still no lights
-Fuse is good
-Dimmer is not on.

Before scrapping this one and looking for another, is it possible to pull JUST the gauges from the bunk Ex cluster(and tossing the circuit board part), and install them into my Cx cluster in case it is the circuitry on the back of the Ex cluster that's bad? In comparing the two I notice that there are differences in the electrical paths on the back.

 

Jump the red wire to the black wire in the unplugged dimmer switch connector. Do the lights work now?

 

didn't get a chance to work on it today, is this connector an unused one behind the cluster or should I unplug the dimmer switch and jump it?

Working cluster > dimming ability lol
