its easy, just take off the plastic front, (3 push tabs at top of cluster) then on back of cluster behind speedo should be 3 gold colored screws. take them out and gently remove your speedo. (remember not to touch the needle!). repeat on other cluster and then swap them. if you need anything else, let me know. Done this atleast 5 times already with no problem

Lost art of SEARCHING!!!
All 1992-1995 5th gen civic clusters will work on
any other 5th generation civics. If you want to
do your odometer swap the easy way then use
his instructions. If you actually want to have
the raised red line then you will need to take off
the needle. Its easy. Just be careful. Most people
use a fork and pry up evenly. I use pliers with a
90 degree bend and it gets it off there in a snap. It
is pretty straight forward from there.

if you swap a canadian speedo (KM/H) into a USDM cluster (MPH) i doubt the cluster will read correctly. i might be wrong, but i doubt it.

Doesnt speed get calculated somewhere else besides the speedo?
Isnt that what the speed sensor is for?
Anyone else have some insight on this?
THanks

My 92 cx is made in canuckda but cluster reads mph. I did the ex to cx swap and everything is fine except cruise control light comes up as the shift-up light. No biggie tho.
As far as the speedo gauge swap, it's very easy. Just dont drink too much coffee before doing that.

CANT!
the car is a Canadian CX i live in Canada.
The cluster i have is from a US EX.
I want to use the EX cluster with tach, but keep my origianl milleage and want the cluster to be in KM/H rather then MPH. I want to swap the CX's speedo into the EX housing with tach.

Re: (CIVIC dude)
I cant believe I am seeing that people actually say that the speedo wont read right. They speed is collected at the tranny by your VSS. DUH. And the info is then sent to your gauge cluster. KmPH is not any different than MPH except that it is a different way of measuring the same thing. THUS the speedo will read correctly as it is moving the same amount of distance it just reads differently. I think I am going to put gh3y quotes on my cluster instead of MPH so that people wont understand...but then it might not read the same so

It will not matter. It reads the same. The only difference is the gauges face on it. I did a Ex cluster swap in my Dx and everything worked perfectly.

How are you going to explain the wrong milage. That is just a dumb idea. You can even be fined for screwing around with a odometer .

If you really wanted to be evil, you could just unplug your VSS for a few months out of the year. Your speedo wouldn't work at that time though...
