You want to keep MPFI? Or DPFI?

To settle that question - Whet engine do you have right now?

I have the d15b7 don't have the original motor cause I got it in trade so the wire harness looks all mangled and so does the inside like they were trying to swap it

Can you elaborate on mangled? This would ultimately decide your best course of action.

Anyways, simply put the B7 is just a newer B2. It mounts the same provided you use the mounts for your car and the only thing off the top of my head that's different is the fan switch location. It doesn't necessarily need to be MPFI but you'll definitely appreciate the conversion (the conversion is mostly done with the intake manifold in mind, nothing to the engine itself). OBD is completely up to you and your willingness to adhere to your local laws where applicable.

i wouldn't mind keeping it obd-0 if that saves me a nightmare of wiring but i do want the mpfi seeing as how i plan on going turbo route down the road but the d15b7 came with its original wiring so from what ive seen and what your saying id need the d15b2 wire harness and then convert that harness to the mpfi get the distributor and the 89 ecu? correct

You're on the right track for keeping it as simple as possible, BUT you might want to consider OBD1 now if you're intent is turbo. Keep in mind that the wire harness doesn't dictate the OBD set up and upgrading to OBD1 is as simple as a jumper harness.

I'll probably do the jumper harness and obd1 later down the Line here's a thought though the vtech wiring has wiring for mpfi with out having to rip it apart and it's can be used with out touching it on an obd0 plug then jumped to obd1 later I don't plan on running vtech I think that plus a turbo although fun sounds iffy

I'm so confused.

Your D15B7 doesn't have vtec so don't worry about vtec because you don't have it and it's is not just some bolt on part that you could add later.

If you already have the correct ECU for the D15B7 then you have an OBD1 ECU.
The smarter route would be to go OBD1 at this point.

If your engine harness is trashed, then remove it and replace it with another engine harness from the SAME MAKE AND YEAR that was there as STOCK equipment!
(It sounds like you have a DX hatch, but I really have no idea. I really don't know what year you have either.)
This is a MUST no matter what route you go!

Assuming you do have a Dx, you MUST then convert your replacement harness to MPFI to work the extra injectors of the D15B7.
You also have to do whatever mods required to plug into the sensors on the D15B7.

The only plug that you have to make a decision on is the distributor plug.
if you want to stay obd-0 then go buy the distributor plug and distributor from a D16A6 as well as a PM6 ECU.
If you want to go OBD1, then you use the plug for the D15B7, the B7 distributor, and the B7 ECU. The only extra part you need is the jumper harness. Plug it in and you are OBD1.
