Does anyone know the process to import a fd2 type r from Hong Kong to America? kinda wanna bring it back to the US or sell it to someone really into the fd2r from the states.

You can't.

 

you should read up on the laws of importing a car... but like MuffinMan said you can't!

 

There are age limits on vehicle imports. Here inCanada, the vehicle must be 15 yrs old by VIN and then it can be done.

Check the NHTSA importation laws and double check your state laws regarding importation.

 

I'm pretty sure the federal law is the car has to be at least 25 years old. I've seen a pretty informative thread in I think the ITR section, where the moral of the story is that you can't import anything until it's 25 years old.

 

Wow vladd, the import laws in the US got harsh, didn't they?!! 25 yrs, that's a damn prison sentence!!!

 

It's been 25 years ever since mercedes got butt hurt and lobbied to put the law in place.

Yeah, I think it was done back in the 80s when people were importing MBs from Europe for cheaper than what they sold for here.

 

You got it my man!!!! They were getting better versions and they cost less. Always will hate MB for ******* **** up. 15 years is old enough...if you get t-boned by a ford excursion in say a ITR, USDM, JDM or EDM it don't matter, you're fucked.
