Hello everyone.
It's been a while... I have a 2002 Acura 1.7EL (Canadian model, basically an Acura version of the Civic). The driver's side window lift assembly cable snapped and I'm in the process of replacing it. Unfortunately the plugs are not the same.
The original is a 6-pin plug:
- -
----
Two separated pins at the top, four pins in a row at the bottom.
The one I purchased is a 4-pin plug:
----
Four pins in a row.
Both have six wires with the 6-pin having four thin wires along the bottom an two thicker wires at the top and the 4-pin having four thin wires with two thick wires together with two of the thin wires.
I believe the difference is that one is for vehicles built in Japan and the other in the USA.
Has anyone come across this with their vehicles? Can anyone suggest a troubleshooting fix such as splicing the wires? Or am I stuck with needing to purchase the correct assembly...
Thanks for the help.

Been doing some research…
I'm pretty sure the one I need is part number: 72250-S5A-A05
This one costs upwards of $250, I suppose because it's made in Japan.
The one I have is part number: 72250-S5D-A06
This one cost me just under $80. This is the US/CAN made assembly.
Thank you Honda...

It gets worse...
I've called every parts distributor in my region and none carry or can order the Japanese made regulator. Even the local scrapers don't have any.
I called Honda and the item is on back order until late November. But that's not the worst of it...
The Japanse made driver's side window regulator is over $600!! I can buy a whole door for much less.
Looks like I'll be trying to find one online.
In the meantime, has anyone tried splicing the wires between the 4-pin and the 6-pin? Both have 6 wires and I assume serve the same function.
Thanks.

This just keeps getting stranger....
I ordered what I thought was the correct regulator assembly based on the number that I had researched. The Japanese made regulator is Honda part #: 72250-S5A-A05
I assumed that this was the 6-pin connector since the other item which is much more readily available as an aftermarket product had 4-pins.
I found 72250-S5A-A05 on Amazon.com and ordered it yesterday. The total damage was just over $300 with delivery. Amazingly it arrived today. I opened it up, ripped open the Genuine Honda Parts bubble wrap, and what do I find? IT'S A FOUR PIN CONNECTOR!!
But this time, it only has four wires. At least the one I originally bought had 6 wires but 4-pins. The 6-pin off the car has 6 wires.
If I can find what I need I might just try splicing the wires and see what I get...

I THINK I FOUND IT!!!!

And not extravagantly overpriced like everything else I've seen.
I just ordered it. I hope this is the one.
