Alright, heres the deal, on the car that i have right now, im going to be finding some cheap parts on ebay and doing long term reviews of them just to help the community out, also, if you have any cheap parts you wanted tested amd such, please leave a note on the thread
As for now, i have ordered Adjustable upper ball joints from primechoiceautopartsoutlet.
Price was 21$ for both balljoints so it really is a great deal, first impressions are that it was fairly well made, balljoint felt really strong and well built, adjustability dosent seem to bring about any pinch points in the suspension or brake lines. no long term test yet. but seems like a nice product
Also on the list, Stainless steel brake lines from GTautosports.
Blue brake lines, appaear to be high quality, not much flex to them though if i remember correctly the caliper attachment where the bolt goes was made of plastic (?) long term results will be coming soon, just installed as with the balljoins
only thing worth testing would be suspension componets. usually cheap quality and dont last long + can be devastating when they go. you get what you pay for.
already tested would be headers and catback exhaust... welds tend to be cheap, usually choppy and need to be adjusted to bolt up correctly, also baffles tend to break over a year or 2...
other ebay brand stuff would be headlights/tails/corners and other plastics. they usually arnt 100% to oem spec, and tend to always be different whether it effects installation or not.
i understand you wanna be a guinea pig, and ebay brand isnt terrible, but quality suffers instantly when you notice 20$ compared to 100$.
try out a ebay turbo kit, if u wanna be a guinea pig lol
You must have ***** of steal. When pushing a car to it's limits I want to know the joints are at least OEM quality. Have you ever had a ball joint pop out on you on the highway at 55mph? Trust me it isn't fun.

It's scarier than hell doing 5 MPH in reverse, I can't imagine 55!
I wouldn't risk my life to a poor quality part. Would I risk my corner signals? Hell yeah. My steering wheel? Probably not. My steering wheel cover? Sure. See where I am going with this? Don't put yourself in danger. A lot of this is pretty well documented.
To be honest, as to test the review of the balljoints themsleves, the only thing worth noting is the poor quality of the nut that comes with them! the parts themselves are proving to be solid and seem to be good, also update on those brake lines, good quality, steel ends, threads are real deep, easy to seal as well, you dont have to have a perfect flare for those who do it at home, also, i bought some ebay tails, woudint reccomend if you could find stockers, lmfao, they fill up with rain water* lmfao, and d.w guys, we usually check out the parts beforehand before installing them, and we check them every 4 weeks. as per the requirements to see if any components have wear and tear, thanks for the concern though, truly is appreciated.
on that diagram, what is the Number 9 part called? we accidentally fucked up on an innie removal and we had to tap and die the threads, mind you it worked, we loctited it and tightend it up, but i need to replace the bushings so i want to replace that thing just for the sake of having good threads.

Cut off your bit of line before making another flare, take your time on this step
This is the Ebay line, stainless steel covered by PVC protective coating
To prevent any.. uhm.. imperferctions in the flair (forgot the official name of it) i filed my line down flat before i moved onto flaring
next is putting on this bad boy, you usually want ot have about 1/8 inch or just a bit more then that sticking out of one end so it can crush the line and do the flair
make sure its really tight by putting something between the wing nuts and tightening them up as much as you can
To take out the bit you need to have that little hand wrench thingy, every kit you get will provide instructions on how to do this step, its unique to the kit. i think.
Flare. seems very well made
No citations for this picture, just showing the line lol
Tighten it to about as tight as you can with a stubby hand wrench or.. i beleive they say until you feel resistance, thats the flare meeting up with the other one on the inside of the line.
brake line is installed with no leaks present, job well done.
Electrical tape just to wrap up any spots that might rub on the wheel thanks to its lenght. (thanks ebay)
try to tuck your spare line away somewhere so it wont rub on the tire.
So this is the kit i used, metric bubble flaring set, it used the smallest flar
the other line had easier acsess so i managed to bring its extra lenght into the bay
job done and wheel ready to be put back
Thread locker, just in case you dont feel safe with your results, you can use some of this stuff, try to maybe get it redone though if your flare dosent hold up
Sorry about them not being in order, first time posting images. lmfao, will do better next time, sorry again! next im ganna do the EBAY 4 point harness
Also, its worth noting that all the ball joints and tie rods in the photos are ebay as well. next time they need changing ill make a thread for them as well
alright guys, thanks to some rear brake failiures and them catching on fire earlier this year, i have bought a full rear end including springs pads and cylinders off ebay.
The pads and springs have already come in through the mail, first impressions are good, pads look accurate and exacely like OEM (so we would hope) as well and the springs in the kit being very tight and strong.
cant wait till the cylinders get here so i can do my install. will also be installing the rear brake lines off that stainless kit during this time.
Yeah you're going to get bad reviews from the long time honda owners. The way i see it, you can lose your car everyday you drive. Also, if youre planning to keep your car for atleast idk 6 years, replace all things with oem if possible or top brand stuff.
But also theres no point in putting you know... 2grand into your car that you will never get back. Original cars are worth alot more, but cmon hondas that are mid 80s through 2000 and are priced at 3-10k are ridiculous. Off topic. But at the end of the day its your car, experiment with it, learn from it, and later in life youll have stories to tell your children starting like this, " Oh so you bought some coilovers from ebay, eh? Well let me tell you something about ebay parts..."
Definitely see where you are going with this. Everyone does their own thing. Just replace the safety parts with quality stuff so you don't lose your life is all we are saying.
lmfao, to be perfectly honest, as much as it dosent seem that way, im also trying to buy quality parts as well as experiment with different brands, if you obserse some of these parts that i bought, you will see that they are in fact name brand parts, ontop of that, anything that i do install from ebay i check regulalry to make sure, ya know, im not ganna die or anything.
coilovers. i mean. ok the topic has been discussed a million times, i for one dont bother with ebay coilovers simply because first of all, they dont even have a name brad like i mean, theyre just chinese knock offs, most of the parts ive ordered are from the states or canada i usually try to stay away from chinese, now this does not mean the parts that i buy are all that expensive or bad quality
while i completely understand all of your concerns, i also want you guys to trust in the fact that i do know what im doing and im taking every precaution nesessary to ensure that all the parts are in good working order, and learning a bit of what i can and cant order for my track ef on a regular basis.
note. yes i have 2 efs, the one that im fixing now is my DD, my other one on the other hand, is my gutted car for use at the track. But thanks for all your concerns, but i am being careful and weary of the products i buy, we acutally test them in the shop before we put them on the car. lmfao if anything usually wrong with them at that point, it goes to scrap.
thanks for all your concern honda tech. i am taking care and i thank you guys for showing love to another community member, but just trust me on this one. its not like the cars going over 65 mph until the major issues are fixed anyways. take care
hm, speaking of unreliable parts, i bought a spare set of upper ball joints that im sure arent ganna last very long, then again, we tested out its toughness and checked the pin size along with how well the inside was built, i was quite suprised! ill post a link for you and pictures of how it looks on the car, its a -1 to +1 camber adjustable balljoint, i think i got 2 for 20 bucks? anyways lemme post that up
ill be taking the front end apart sometime this week or the next, and ill update the condition of all the joints. and lines.
** just to let you guys know, i wont be able to post until spring of next year, the cars been put away and i aint got room to work on it where its stroed**
