Icon2 270K Miles - What maintenence should be done?

Hello, I have a 1993 Honda Accord LX (5-speed) and today I hit 270,000+ miles.

My question is what maintenance should I be doing to prolong the life of my engine, tranny etc?

As always, thank you for your time!

Change fluids as need be, make sure you are up to date/mileage with valve adjustment, timing/balance belt replacement. Verify there are no leaks, no swollen or soft hoses. Look at bushings for tears, cracks, wear. A general look at everything on the car, pay attention to any new noises/sounds/feeling in the way the car drives.

Go over the whole car and if you see something questionable, describe it, or post a picture of your concern.

Thank you for helping,

Should I go ahead and change the timing belt, water pump and serpentine belt, spark plugs and boots?

I just did my 280k mile tune up. This is my 3rd timing belt change. I have an extensive list of maintenance records since 80k miles, so there are some other things on my to-do list for 300k miles as well.

  • Timing Belt, Balancer Belt, Water Pump, Thermostat, (Timing Pulley + spring, Balancer Pulley + spring), (cam, crank & balancer seal), (power steering, A/C belt)
  • Valve cover gasket + spark plug seals
  • Spark plugs
  • Coolant change
  • Oil pump gasket
  • Brake fluid bleed
  • Check air filter
  • Check PCV valve
  • Clearn EGR & IAC & Throttle body
  • Fuel Filter
I spent quite a bit on mine. I spent $400 on parts, with the vital things from HondaAutomotoiveParts and the non-life treating parts from Advance with a 40% off coupon.
