Default quick question re: off the shelf ITR head

Little debate going on in the Civic forum. Is the $1200 ITR head that is purchased from an Acura dealer p&p`d? Or is just a b16 head w/ R internals? I could have swore that it`s not p&p`d.

Tia, y0!

Ryan

I'm sure the whole p&p they did on the c5 is automated.

So.... Maybe they are (edit)slightly(/edit) p&p'ed.

I think the question is if the itr heads from acura are the same as the ones we got when we bought our cars, or are they b16 heads with R internals and NOT even slightly p&p'ed/cleaned up. Differentiating between a real port and polish and little cleaning up is not the answer.

I remember reading that someone got a brand new head and said the work on it actually looked better than the ones that come in a ITR. So yes, it does come with the work done to it.

Not sure ryan. Most likely it's polished like the OEM head, but not sure.

Seat blending and that's it Steve.

What would've been the diff in head's (Besides the internals) between the ITR and B16A head then????

Is that the only difference between the itr head and b16 head? seat blending?

differences:

seat blending and sometimes some port cleanup
intake valves
intake and exhaust valvesprings
lost motion assemblies
camshafts

THATS IT!

So technically the power output should be somewhat less then a regular R motor out of a ITR????

Not like it matters much (Because the GSR head isn't that much cheaper then the ITR anyway.

GSR and ITR head are completely different, so I assume you meant B16A head?
