Need Advice for a 400HP B16 Turbo CRX
I'm looking to build a 400~HP B16, with forced induction. I'm going to be without a license for 6 months. During this time I am planning on using my time productively by building a motor, as well as restoring my 1990 CRX SI. I'm not planning on half-assing the build either. I will be posting the build progress up on the forums.
Just looking for a general guideline on what I'll need to get to building this.
(Side note I was working on the brakes today, and it looks like I have an lsd, my friend grabbed one wheel while i spun the other and no matter what they both moved, do '90 CRX SI's have lsd's?)

Is this a joke?
EDIT:
OK, here is some advice. Why go for 400 HP? If you are serious, go for 500 HP. Imagine you spend all that money to make it to 400 HP and then realize you could have gone an extra 100 HP and you'd have 500 HP. 500 HP on a CRX is a lot better than 400 HP. Think about it, wouldn't you rather have 500 HP versus 400 HP? And yes you definitely have an LSD.

It is irrelevant that you got a reckless driving, probably should remove that. It doesn't add anything but negativity to the post.
What is your budget?
Don't feed any negative comments by others with negative responses try to keep it positive. He is has been on the forums for a while give him a little more respect.

To get an engine that will last is gonna to cost you min $3000, so factor that into the equation. After that $5000 is a good budget to do alot.
If you're looking for a general guideline I would recommend browsing through this thread. I know you want to boost your B16, but this is still a good guideline for parts needed.

You are going to need (EDIT: assuming you go with the 500hp plan);
a sleeved or CSSed block
head work
a proper turbo
engine management and tuning
a nice clutch
strong axles
an LSD in the trans if you plan on any spirited driving
There's your laundry list.
You NEED to go do the research for what parts you actually want to use.

300whp in a CRX is pretty fast, high 11's if you can drive. I suggest you lower your hp goal to 300whp and put your standard garret 50 trim on a stock B16/GSR and call it a day.
I'm going to make an assumption that OP goes to Mexico street racing often and the well behaving 300hp for a daily driver just isn't going to work out.
300 hp is a lot in a crx and a good place to start. there are a lot of "off the shelf" kits that would give you the number you are looking for and at 300 hp you wont need to upgrade the internals is long as you are on a propper tune.
Go autoworks is a good place to look for turbo kits and they will help you to make sure you get what you need. 5k sounds like a lot but when building a boosted set up it wont go really far.
just my .02

By the first post it looks like he has a stock d16 in there. So stock lsd he is asking about is irrelevant unless he is staying d series which would be a fun build, but def easier to get a b series to make 500hp.. He def needs to give us some more info and he needs to do some researching…

OP just got confusing.
Post content suggests it's a stock 1990 SI (D16)
Thread title is for a B16.
nice .. looks like if you finish within the 6 months you will have your license back for about a week ...
first suggestion is that not all B16's are made alike .. yes they are all nice but some are better for high horse power output than others.
I would research exactly what you are buying before you do.
You guys are making it harder than it needs to be. If this was early 2000s then it would be more questionable task.
If you already have engine and tranny then engine rebuild should only be $2500
Turbo kit with nice accessories should be less than $3500
Q:
What fuel type do you have access to? 92 or e85
Is this your first engine rebuild, or work in under supervision or paying some else for assembly?
Do you mind driving a puck clutch?
Do you mind only having about 3000-3500rpms of boosted power out of your b16?
