About a month ago i was putting in a head unit in my del sol, about a week after the SRS light came on. I thought maybe i popped a fuse, but both are good (fuse 24 and 25). The code it flashed was 5-1. I think its internal failure of SRS unit. Is this warrantied by honda? My car is a 1995 del sol. Youd think anything safety related is warrantied? correct?

I just bought my 95 yesterday and the SRS light is on, as well. I figured no big deal, but now I'm curious.

 

its really disturbing...especially in a del sol where its 2 seats. Hopefully we get an answer frome someone...i hope its warranty.

 

I can't imagine the warranty would cover a 19 year old car, but who knows. Maybe it's just a fuse? My dashboard clock doesn't work either, although everything else does.

Ha! Yep, opened the fuse box and the 7.5 backup wasn't even in there. Bought a few, slipped one in, and presto. The guy who sold it to me had no idea. Eesh.

 

Pull the dash board out... There are 3 fuses in a row next to each other hidden above the srs, its most likely one of those...

 

lmao!!!! Seriously, do you think any stealership will warranty a car that is more than 10yrs old?!?!? They have deadlines or max mileage for a reason. Youre not buying a part from autozone that has a lifetime warranty.

Mine is on because of the airbag but i know a 20 year air bag is gonna work so i just ignore it

 

Honda says it will replace seat belts for lifetime, if not physically damaged.
Airbags? Just the factory car warranty, no extensions on time.

 

Buy a replacement SRS control unit.
