91 CRX w/ B16A2 Swap, stalling out after sitting for ~5 years.
Parked this thing for about 2-3 years (2009) and it was running fine at that time. Then I went to move it to another spot in my yard (~2012) and it would not stay running. It would crank, start and appear to idle for about 5-10 seconds, then the idle would die out slowly and stall, unless I kept tapping the gas. Didn't want to bother with it then.
Over the past week we have been trying to get this problem sorted out as it pretty much doing the same thing. I can keep the engine running by tapping the gas and keep it "running" as long as I keep that up. However if I give it too much gas it will stall out.
When we started out, I had found that I have some bad grounds and right now have the car grounded using jumper cables to the frame/trans from the new battery, which did solve the no crank when we started out to get it running.
Also the Apexi (frist gen) VAFC's buttons light up (orange lights), but is not showing the blue digital display, except for a few seconds during starting. The display goes blank before the "Apexi VAFC" logo animations finishes.
Any suggests on what to check? or what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance guys.

Have you changed anything such as fuel filter? Drained old gas? Plugs? Sorry this might sound dumb but these simple things could be your problem..
I haven't changed any of that.
There was hardly any gas in it. Added 2 gallons of fresh gas and some dry gas before starting anything.
Tapping the gas, I can get it to Rev out. I just cant give it WOT, or it will just bog right out. Which is why I assumed the plugs and gas were fine. I will pull them and give them a looking though.

Well if it bogs out when you give it WOT that could mean a shortage in gas which could be caused by clogged lines filter or injectors. Just trying to bounce ideas around..
I'm going to check the wiring to the VAFC first, and probably remove it. Also going to check the fuel pressure at the filter and replace if needed.
The VAFC turning off was the problem. The unit was removed and everything worked perfectly after that.
