So I got a 03 rsx type s (if that even matters). Im pretty new to this acura/honda thing and was wondering why my car makes a rattle type noise when car is in neutral or idling *sound coming near the back*. (loose exhaust?) Also there's a low sputtering/rattle noise when I accelerate the car as well. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like a possible exhaust leak. Your exhaust may be banging around the undercarriage as well. Get under the car and check the exhaust system out for holes. You may have a broken hanger as well.

you need to look under the car because it could be just about anything from a sway bar installed wrong( seen that) to a bad hanger to the guts of the muffler have come loose.....you get the idea......

 

I'm gonna guess the cat shield is rusting and rattling. It happened on my EP3 and i chased the rattle for a few days till I could find it.

 

Ahh thanks y'all, found out a bolt for holding the donut gasket broke off and when I went to replace it, I found out the donut gasket was broke too! Guess I'll be looking under the car more often now.
