OBD0/OBD1 check engine light: code 16 fuel inection circuit
as always, i apologize in advance for the length of this post, as i am detail oriented and like to give as many details as i know so as to give the reader a better chance of the issues i am having.
i have a 1990 honda civic hatchback with a TBI 1.5L 4spd. it previously had a rough idle, and randomly died. after replacing the Ignition Control module the dieing ceased and has never stalled since. however, after replacing the fuel injectors and main relay, the idle did IMPROVE, bt all of a sudden the check engine light is on. i pulled the code from the ECU, and it came up code 16: fuel injection circuit open or shorted. both injectors and the fuel injection relay are BRAND NEW, and ALL of the fuses in the entire car have been replaced. i have checked every ground i could find in the car, and ALL of them are clean and snug, and ALL of the pigtails for the injectors and relays are snug and inserted all the way into their receptacles.
i have tried disconnecting the battery, pulling the Hazard, ECU, backup and main fuses, as well as completely disconnecting the entire ECU, each method/attempt followed by running the car for 10-25 minutes, and the ECU STILL has not reset yet, and i have tried more times than i can count.
does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing the ECU to NOT reset or to re-learn the fuel system?
at this point anything can help.
