Alright so I have a few questions about doing a mini me swap, I have a 96 ex with a D16y8 that's blown the head it good though, and I came across a D16y7 and my questions 1.) Can I use the wiring harness from the y8 since that's what in the car?
2. Is it a necessity to buy new head bolts?
3. the ecu in the car already should be the correct one right?

 

If your car is an ex just swap block for block and reuse your wiring harness. Make sure to swap over the knock sensor from the Y8 to the Y7 as the Y7 do not have one but do have the threaded hole as the Y7 and Y8 blocks are the same minus the pistons, oil pan and a few other bits. Your ecu should be fine and either buy new headbolts or some ARP head studs. The rest should be plug and play for any other block sensors.
