y8 head on y7 block
Well im going boost on my y7 but I just decided that hondas bestfriend vtec has to be a part of it so i wanna know how a y8 head would affect my overal motor...would compression be the same as an ex motor(9.6:1) or would it be higher...im guessing the d16y8 has the same bottom end just different head and a couple of things...also by any chance is the wiring harness the same...sum ppl tell me it is other say i gotta swap it?..thanks

Compression will be raised to around 9.9:1. Wiring harnesses are the same, but you can modify one plug on your harness and run 3-4 wires for vtec, vtec oil pres, iacv, knock.

Well im planning on buying rods and pistons for this but lets say i buy srp 8.1:1 compreesion pistons for a y8 im going to have to like a the .3 extra of compression...buy the way y the reason for higher compression...decked head?
