Only the drivers window works, the window lock is not on. I have read many stories on the internet without any resolutions about these windows/locks. Are they related? Door wire harness? Blue door lock relay in drivers door? Does the door wire harness unplug from inside the door or in the door jam? Should I take the left front fender off? should I take the door off?

What worked for you?

Ok, heres where I'm at so far...I found and disconnected the harness on the drivers door, removed the drivers door from the car for room to work, rolled back the boot and this is what I found......about 12 or so of the wires completely disconnected from the plug. I would add a picture, but.....

Has anyone tried to repair the plug/wire connections? I've seen a video on Youtube of a guy who spliced in a new connector with a couple inches of wire to get the job done.

Finding a Civic in a salvage yard or one parting out is just as difficult as trying to repair what I have.....

 

Try ebay for the harness or just try fixing yourself.

 

I just finished splicing in a connector/wires, right side windows and door locks work, drivers and left rear window are not working. The drivers window was working before I did the swap.

Anyone happen to have a wiring diagram for window harness wires?
1996 EX 4 door.

 

So I discovered I has two Blu/blk wires on the wrong mates, one was slightly smaller than the other. Now three of the four windows work, left rear still not working. I have power from the ylw/blk wire when I use the master switch, window will not work from the left rear door switch either. Will take door panel off in the next couple days and check the motor...??

 

You might also check continuity on those wires...my 95 EJ1 has suffered from broken (inside the sheath) wires in the door panels (which ive heard is common...dunno for sure).

 

I'm having the same problem with my passenger side window except the person that owned my 96 ex somehow wired both windows to the door lock switch...I got new window switches and plugged them in and now my drivers window works from the window switch but the passenger side still only works off the door lock switch...does anyone have an idea of where they might have wired this at?
