Ferrea valve spring clearance
I've searced and unfortunately Ferrea is closed on weekends for tech assist....
So I'm in the middle of rebuilding my ITR Head with a complete Ferrea Competition Plus valve train. For those of you have done this before, did you have to shave areas in the head to improve clearance between the valve springs and some corners in the head??... After I installed the first 2 exhaust valves/valve springs, I noticed that there is barely any clearance. Comparing the OEM and the Ferrea Comp plus valve springs side by side, Ferrea seemed to be bigger in diameter.
I verified my part numbers and they are correct.
Thank you for your time.

Yea having to remove a bit of material here and there won't hurt... although at high rpm the springs shouldn't grow from harmonics too much, at least if you are within the limits of the springs as far as rpm and cam lift are concerned
There are other threads on this issue if you look. Its a pretty common practice to have to make clearance here and there. My machinist and I decided to remove some material just for piece of mind but I doubt it would hurt anything to leave it as-is.
