Icon4 2000 si b16a2 head work?

so i was wandering how much head work really helps these little motors and if it is worth the extra $$ if any one can give me insight on that or other things besides boost or lsv i would grately appreciate it




my car has aem cold air intake the filter is in front bumper with 4to1 dg header and a catback 2.5"

ohh and by the way the head is in the shop the guy i bought it from tryed to put ajustible cam gears on it and bent 5 valves

Well I was thinking drag and daily but maybe the occasional road course but I dont know where any of those are around me so......

Porting the head gives the head better flow. You can extract a good amount of power from a good ported and polished head. If your going to stay N.A a ported head with ITB's will be fun!

for an all around car you cant go wrong with type r internals and camshafts, with a good IM and exhaust system would give you a good fun little car

if keeping the stock 1600cc displacement,
the pr3/b16a head is more than capable... it might be easy to over port it and all

a good valvejob might do better, and concentrate on other aspects like camshafts/valvetrain + exhaust etc

Ok thanks for all the info my head will be done friday with all new valves and 5 angle job the head guy also said that those heads dont need porting on such a small displacement engine so I took what you guys said and what he said and ill update yall later on how everything works

obviously the guy doesnt know about honda engines

So totally new procedure im getting a b18b block and h beam rods gonna put my b16 pistons and vtec head and probably some cams....... any body got good ideas for tuning or how to find a tuner near me
