b18b1 problems, cant figure it out.
So my car will run fine, no problems at all...then my car jerks and the check engine light comes on. It idles at 1500 RPM and wont rev past 3000rpm. Also if it stays on (could be for days) and i let it sit, ill start my car and it will die unless i hold down the gas pedal, then it will start and continue to act weird...have had this problem since i had the car. any help would be appreciated...the motor is in a 1995 del sol, the motor is out of a 98 integra.
EDIT AFTER FIX:
If you are in limp mode with a chipped ECU follow these directions.
1. Remove the Chip
2. There should be a resistor below the chip called J1, cut the resistor to reset the ECU to its stock MAP. BAM fixed.
Thank you for the help I recieved on this post!

Well definitely the key is that check engine light. If its obd2 then swing by auto parts store and they will scan it for free, or if its obd1 then you can jump the service connector and count the number of flashes. Being that you said its out of a 98, im assuming its obd2, but ita always possible to have converted it to obd1 to be able to tune it.
If you cant do the simple things to troubleshoot it.. then you need to find someone that can.
These swaps arent a plug and play thing where you just drop in the engine and everythings fine. You revving the engine isnt going to fix the problem so limp it somewhere or have someone come to you.
Figure out what codes its showing you and go from there. Theres threads on how to read OBD1 flash codes. familiarize yourself with the search function as we cant help you unless you tell us what the car is trying to tell you!

So there is a service connector under the glove box. Its a female plug, probably in a rubber boot. Pull it out of the boot and take a paper clip and bend it to a U shape. Stick it in both sides of the plug. then turn the key and the check engine light will flash. There are long flashes and short flashes. Long=10 short=1 so one long and two short would be 12. If theres more than one code there will be a longer pause between flashes. Do that and come back with what you get. Also ive had it where it never stored the code so I had to pull over once to check the code while the car was running. Worth checking to see if its stored though

i have a lead, i think its the cranshaft positioning sensor, but i have no idea where that is located...at all. i watched a video of a car doing the exact same thing as mine!
Did you read the code? There can be multiple things that cause that. Obd2 ecu its mounted on oil pump housing right under the crank gear, obd1 is in the distributor. This could have been fixed last week if you would have retrieved the code. Check engine lights dont just come on for no reason, ane when you have an issue and a cel then they are usually related.
my engine is obd2 but my ecu is obd1. i cant read obd1 :/ this video says everything thats wrong with my car. misfiring, cant go past 3 grand, idling at 1500. most deffinatley it.
It doesn't matter what your ECU is. Listen to us. Put a paper clip in the jumper, and read the damn blink codes. If you can't do something that simple, you really have no change in properly diagnosing and fixing a car.
I know how to jump the harness, i know how do do all that, if you read i said i don't know how to read OBD1. Don't get snippy with me on my post. if you cant help out, dont comment at all.
If you've already done it, why not just post your findings?
PS Everyone on here is actually interested in helping you solve the issue but if you don't provide all relevant info how can we assist you?
In case you missed it...

No. If you can't answer what is the most simple question anyone should ever ask on these forums, you won't get any help. Read the blink codes. If you can't do so, make a video of them, upload it to YouTube, and post it here. If you can't do that, find a friend who can.
