Replacing springs on 91 accord
hello guys im replacing some springs on my accord and cant get the bottom control arm bolt out due to bushing all it does is spin around can I take anything elese loose just to drop the hole strut down I can do everything elese from under car if I can get the thing to drop down front and rear.. I got spring compressors.
If the lower crush sleeve has rusted to the bolt you may try Kroil/Liquid Wrench to break the bolt free. If that does not work you will need to cut the bolt head off and bend one ear of the lower shock mount to clear the jammed shank.
Bolt is 90021-SM4-003 (10X68) ~$8 from the dealer.

This is a common issue with through bolts in this type of suspension, Civic/Integra owners have the same problem. Only way to release the bolt it to cut the bolt to get the shock off the control arm.
instead of busting my Butt trying to get these little pains of bolts loose im just going to drop the thing low enough to get springs off then put my new ones on and zap it back together and be back ready for Friday, sounds easy right? never is.. any suggestions on what to take loose just to drop it down without taking the bolts out of wish bone in bottom of Honda accord. front and rear has to be done thanks..
