Default How can I read a transmission error code?

2003 Element EX here (2wd), 122k miles. Had the 120k service done recently, including transmission fluid replacement. In the last week or so I have started to occasionally see the flashing D/drive light on the transmission shift indicator when I'm driving. I don't notice anything different at all about the shifting, the car seems to be running fine. I don't have a check engine light on either.

I have a bluetooth OBDII interface and Android app, but when I try to use that to display any error codes, it doesn't find any, even when the D is actively flashing. Should that work, or is there a different tool needed to read transmission error codes? Is there something I can jumper to get the system to flash the error code (I know this can be done for OBD codes)?

Thanks!
