I got hammered on the higway last night, the officer said he clocked me at 80 in a 55 zone, the thing was that he said he was merging onto the highway and saw me fly by and clocked me at 80. How could he clock me accurately if he was movign also ? NOw if he followed me for a little , which he didnt becuase i was one of the only cars on the highway and I woulda saw his headlights behind me .
He kinda like came outta nowhere and was right up my ***.
SO what kinda points could I bring up to fight the accuracy of his clocking?
on the fine , its not radar or vacar, it says clocked, and test equip says self?
so im assuming he followed me and tried to pinpoint his speed with my speed. but im thinking there could be alot of factors that could throw that off. . . .help is appreciated, i might lose my license on this one.

Doesn't matter if he was moving. Please no-lo if you can (No points just pay the fine). Otherwise pay for a lawyer and hope you can still keep your license.

now int he field where is says method , checked on clocked, and box for equip used check ed self.
thats the ony thing he coulda used. vascar and radar werent used. how can he clok me if we are both moving and be accurate?

here's my question, with all the new technology out there, ( i dont knowwhat kinda radar they police has), i'm sure it's pretty easy for the radar to actually detect your speed while it's moving as well. the radar can detect what speed the police is moving (by reading the electronic speedometer or something), and at which angle it's pointing to you, so it can easily do the calculation at what speed you're going? don't you think? i don't know if this is the way the police radar works.

 

but he didnt radar me , thats the thing. or the radar box woulda been checked on the citation .

 

mmm... If he didn't check radar on the ticket than he paced you. You will lose in court either way. It's annoying that the cops do 80mph going to the grocery store but give you a ticket for doing the same.

 

but the thing is he woulda had to speed up to catch up to me becuase i had a little more road on him beucase he merged at 35 and then saw me. so he would have to have sped up and got a certain distance from me and followed me for a little at that same speed to get it accurate, there wasnt enough space for that , he pulled me over right as he got on. . . he prob heard my exhaust humming and assumed i was going as fast as I sounded. . . well i pleaded not guilty to fight it , the cop was an ******* fromt he beginning , he gave me a fine for not changing my address within 15 days of my move too and scoped out my whole car and checking **** inside my car asking me who i took my plate from and this and that , assuming my plate was stolen .

 

how j00 know he merged @ 35? mebbe he was merging @ 80?

yshi - whose not sure of the fwy but there are plenty of onramps in socal where 80 can easily be reached.

 

you get caught, you have to pay. You can go and plead your case, but in the end it is going to be a speeding ticket of some kind.

 

Not if the cop doesn't show up for court. ITR206, make sure you can identify him in court because if he's not there plea not guilty and bolt.

 

its worth a try right? and 1107 whats your deal? i am here asking for help , i dont need to hear you got caught , pay ther fine and thats it . if it was someone elses case that was everyones friend here, yall would be like oh man ,t hats messed up , dude fight it blah blah blah. im not the most popular guy here, so i get negtivity. I cant afford the fine and I cant afford to lose my license. I dont think i was speeding , I t was late at night, i work 12hrs a day and then 5 hrs at nighht at school and he might have caught me slipping beucase i was in a rush to get home from school becuase i was tired. , or maybe he was trying to meet his quoata seeming it was the last day of the moenth and the only time i have these problems is the last few days of the month like clock work .

Using the above as a speed guide usually prevents tickets

Don't take out blame on law enforcement for doing their job. Go to court. Have it reduced. Pay the fines. Learn from this.

Screw that! The speed limit should be 70 anyway! And who's giving the cops tickets? They do a minimum of 80 in their cruiser's driving their families to picnic but give you the ticket.

 

It's nothing personal, believe me. I just think that IF you were going 80 and you know it and he pulled you over, then you're caught. If he wanted to meet quota that still doesn't invalidate the fact that you were going 80. I willingly go 80-85 on the highway KNOWING that if I get pulled over, I'm getting a ticket and a pricey one at that. It is the instances when you are going 5mph over the limit or when you are doing nothing wrong at all when you fight.

This is SIMILAR (not the same) as going to a dealership and requesting warranty work, when in actuality it was the driver beating the **** out of a modified car. That causes dealers to not do many warranty items for ALL of us, whether or not they are real warranty-type problems. Like I said, similar. It is dishonest. You WERE speeding, and you admitted it here. It doesn't matter why you were speeding, he caught you. Radar guns work while moving. That is why (and it happens often in chicago) if you are going 50 in a 35 in town and the cop is coming the other way, he does a U turn and pulls you over. you think he just guesses at your speed?

I just believe that if you do the crime, you do the time. Or in this case, pay the penalty.

 

I agree that they speed and take advantage, but there's nothing you or I can do about that.

The speed limit IS 55, there is no should.

Talk to a lawyer. My friend is a cop, and if I remember correctly, he said they have to pace someone for 1/4 mile or a mile or something like that.
