Default 92 hatch D16Y8 swap

Okay guys, I have a 92 hatch and recently picked up a D16Y8 for cheap. I am going to do the swap tomorrow but would like to know what I would need or things I should know to make it work properly. I do have the engine harness and ecu for the d16 also. It looks pretty easy and looks like it'll all line up the same. Thanks!

Can't use the engine harness and wouldn't advise the ECU. You didn't list your model hatch but if it's a DX or Si you'll need to swap over your injectors as the y8 won't plug and play. Also reuse your alternator as well. If you have a DX model you can reuse your distributor as the Y8 won't plug and play. As for ECU your best option is to use a P28. The Y8 uses a different intake air temp sensor so you'll have to put your old engines sensor in your intake arm. Also I hope you got a 5 speed engine as the auto one uses a different manifold you can't use. Also if you don't have an SI or VX model you'll have to wire up VTEC.

Please explain the manifold issue. I have a dx model 5-speed and the y8 motor is out of an auto. Thanks

The auto intake manifold uses a 3 wire IACV on the throttle body as opposed to almost every other manifold which uses a 2 wire on the manifold itself. You'll have to use either your DX one, or preferably one from a 92-95 Si or 96-00 EX manual one. It's possible to drill and tap on the one you have but it's usually easier to find another manifold.
