Lock cylinder changed, key doesn't rotate completely

Lock cylinder changed, key doesn't rotate completely
Changed lock cylinder, on a 91 accord. Now key doesn't turn to start position. Removed a micro switch with a lever in the housing, now key turns fully. What is this switch? It has two wires to it, both hot till switch is closed. Is this the switch to get gear lever out of park? Thank u in advance, jeff
