The other day i was taking my 98 civic ex with a fully built ls vtec that made 492whp i took it down the road to get some food and when i was pulling up to the plaza i couldnt go into 1st or 2nd gear but went into 3rd. I didnt want to be stuck in the road so i feathered it to get it in the plaza. Next thing i wouldnt go into 3rd or 4th but only 5th... But when i put it in 5th gear it will not come out of gear. It is stuck in 5th gear and tried to take it out and will not budge. The car does not want to move either even when the clutch is in. I can start the car and hold the clutch but as soon as i let go it dies due to it being in 5th gear. Anyone ever have this problem? My guess is the synchros took a crap. Its a Hyrdo GSR tranny with ITR lsd and LS 5th

 

I know its heavily built, but check your clutch and related parts. My new Accord had trouble going into gear and turned out to be a broken flywheel and worn clutch and bearing.

Engine off you SHOULD be able to just pull it freely out of gear tho. Synchros is a sound idea to investigate.

 

How much fluid is in it.
