I noticed a fresh door ding today on my Civic (2011 sedan). It happened in the soccer mom parking lot of a Starbucks (don't judge--I do like their tea) and was probably a gargantuan Escalade or something that got me.

It's not too big--a little smaller than a dime--so I know it's no problem to pop it. I got a nickel sized one pulled last year on the other side of the car.

The question--how long should I wait to get it pulled?

The reason I ask this--I sort of don't want to spend $75 (that's what my last one cost) right now since I just paid for an iPhone screen repair that I didn't expect to have. I also am the toughest person in the world to buy for at Christmas and am thinking, if it's not too late to do it, ask to get the dent popped as a Christmas gift from my parents.

The paint is a little messed up there, but I'm not concerned about that since my car needs a detail anyway and I'm not doing that until April. I mostly just want the body panel smoothed out.

Should I wait or should I just bite the bullet and do it ASAP?

 

I could drive 480 miles to see him again--actually wouldn't mind that since I have some friends down south I need to catch up with!

I'm in Pittsburgh now if anyone knows of a good dent guy around here. Used to be in Rock Hill, SC, which is honestly just a suburb of Charlotte--so many maps get it wrong and put Charlotte up north when it's really on the NC/SC border. The guy came recommended to me by Hendrick Honda/Honda Cars of Rock Hill (all the same people, and top-notch too).

So basically I'm OK with waiting until December to get it done courtesy of Mom and Dad? It won't matter if it sits on the car for a few months?
