Default Why does my 1994 honda civic get hot?

I have a 1994 1.6 Honda Civic, it has been converted into a race car. After 10 laps it gets hot, the needle gets right up by the red line. We have an after market radiator in it and it has no clogs and has plenty of water/coolant in it.. We even tried a different radiator in it and it still got hot. The head gasket was also just replaced. Why would this be happening? thank you for your input in advance. I don't know much about these cars yet.

ALL related modifications are required. Exactly what is under your hood? What thermostat and fan switch are you using? 10 laps on what track?

Check the fan relay, and connect power to the fan motor to see if the motor will spin.

OP has been asked 8 questions, and has decided to only answer 1. This thread is going to quickly turn into a waste of everyone's time.

To add have you checked for a hose collapsing upon numerous things as others have said.

1. Radiator
2.Thermostate
3.All Hoses
4.Water Pump
5.Fan
6.Head Gasket
7.Leaks (will build up air pressure in the lines..= Bad head gasket) I have the same car with the same problem and I fixed mine, trust me its one of those.

Ill ask even though I might not get an answer, just trying to help

: n/a or turbo?
riginal fan or slim fan? Slim fans won't work properly without a proper fitting shroud & they can easily be revered so instead of sucking air it might be pushing the hot air around your engine into the radiator.
