Gsr - low oil pressure at vtec solenoid - please help
I have searched and searched and cannot find my answer. Creating a post is always my last resort. I have an eg with a gsr in it. Everything electrical is fine. The oil pressure test read great on back of block. However, oil pressure test at vtec solenoid read at only around 10-15 psi when at high toms and driving, when it should be more like 25 to full engage both intake and exhaust side of vtec. I believe this is causing my vtec to malfunction and not work. I hear absolutely no change in sound at 4400rpm when the intake should open up or at 5500rpm when the 2nd stage of vtec should engage. Note: I am running Blox intake mani.
Has the head ever been taken apart? I would guees that the o rings are missing on the oil feed plugs (or whatever they are called). There are 3 o rings that go under the cam caps
I checked the o ring and dowell under the middle cam cap but I was unaware that there are 2 more. Can anyone point out exactly where they should be?

also pull the solenoid off and check to see if the screen is clogged. never seen one like that personally, but it couldnt hurt to rule it out. grab some hondabond, or preferably a new gasket before you crack it loose.
On another note, I have had my vtec solenoid off a few times. Just installed new gasket for it the last time it was off and still no vtec. I also checked for the audible "click" when directly connecting it to 12volt.
