Default Leaking gas

94 civic ex coupe stock everything

I started getting a gas smell towards the rear of the car. So I jacked it up and there's a small puddle of gas under where these to lines meet. Am I able to just cut the fittings off and put a rubber hose to connect them?

I'm not positive but I do believe the gasoline will slowly eat the rubber away.

I think this is why all fuel lines are metal piping with metal crush washers etc for joints.

I believe your proposed solution is asking for even more troubles relatively quickly.

you can get fuel injection hose, which is rated for the pressures, and the corn in todays gas, but you need to make sure it's stamped that it is, directly on the hose. Some places will try to sell you vacuum line as fuel line. I dont like rubber hose, but with the proper clamps and hose, it should be ok for a little while, until you can get the right hose

you need to use fuel injection hose clamps too, they should have them at most auto parts stores. if you can find them use Oetiker ear clamps
