ZC turbo build
Hey guys, so I have a quick question about running a turbo on my engine. Right now I have a ZC engine in my '89 si, and I was thinking about doing something out of the ordinary and do some kind of a turbo system on this engine. However, I'm having trouble just finding replacement parts for ZC engine. I'm not looking to make some kind of drag car making 700+ hp out of the thing, just some more power and some more fun for my everyday driving and commuting. Anyone know where I can order stronger parts and internals for this little engine, and also what kind of turbo would be good to run? Thanks!!
Sorry bud, there isn't a lot of options out there for a ZC. It would be easier to put the D16 back in with a Y8 head, and build that. The performance you gain by having the extra cam isn't work the lack of a market for the engine. You can go over to the ZC forums and see what others are doing. I believe you will be stuck with not being able to find good pistons unless you get them custom made, and there are only a few options for CAMs.

As for cams yes there is a small selection, but the ones made are top notch. If anyone is getting really serious, they would have them made specifically.
I just built my DOHC ZC and parts took a small amount of time to gather up because all the parts fit different motors. Mostly 88-89 Integra parts, but like a timing belt from 2.0SI Prelude.
Really wasn't bad I think its a good platform that makes gobs of power when done right. That is what I am doing anyways.
What do you mean not being able to find good pistons? How would putting the d16 in be any different? They use the same rods and pistons bro.

Being a long time DOHC ZC owner I would like to say that it's not the lack of support for this engine that is frustrating, it's the lack of people's knowledge of what is interchangeable that gets me. "sodaZC" is right on the money and there's not much I could add to that.

What was the number on the block for your ZC? I tried to look up some stuff about mine and really got nowhere. Is there any specific place I should look to give me the specific engine besides on the block?
