2000 Accord EX SRS Light
I have a 2000 Accord that the SRS light came on a little while ago. The car has roughly 130K miles on it and it runs great. The light comes on for the passenger side air bag when I have enough stuff in the seat without the seat belt being connected, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to figure out why the SRS light is on?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

you need a scanner that can get SRS codes or if you have the cash and don't want to deal with the dealership. You could get the Honda MVCI unit with the HDS software.
Will that also read ABS codes as well? Seeing as I have both lights on. Where can I find a MVCI unit with software? Might as well get one as my son has a 07 Accord as well.
Thanks!

How do you jump the data port to get the codes by counting the flashing lights? Is there a chart or something that tells you what the # of flashes mean?

google is/can be your friend.
Double check me as for me it is getting late, which means I'm tired and lazy.
Jump pin 4 and 9 with a paper clip on the data port.....turn the key to on.....count the "flashes" from the lights.
My guess for the srs, drivers seat belt "latch". Many have been able to clean it and solve the issue......others have been able to make noise enough with honda where after the ~$100 fee from the dealer they refund the "fee" and fix it for free......if it is the seat belt "latch".
Here is something to try/////latch the drivers belt before you put the key in the ign.....does the srs come on? Again not a real good test but has proven to help.

@Geoshanna, here's a youtube video on how to pull the codes without a fancy scanner, however the SRS codes are done through jumping pins 4 and 9 on the OBD2 connector. If it's a seat belt buckle issue, there's a lifetime warranty from Honda on that as some of them had issues. I have a 00 Accord EX too and just recently got it squared away at the dealership in Salem, NH free of charge. I see you're in NH as well. I had a 9-3 code, for the driver's side seat belt buckle. I've also linked a page of all the SRS codes (and how to pull them) here https://honda-tech.com/tech-misc-15/...-list-3111979/. Good luck!!
