Hey guys, well ever since 97 ive wanted a Type R....I only got my liscense in 2001 and I now drive a 93 civic hatch LS turbo. Yes am sure its faster then a stock Type R or even most modded ones, but I still feel the need to sell my car and buy a R.. Are they really that good? I have still not driven one and dont want to sell my civic and then regret it a month later..

So should i sell it and buy a R?
Or keep it and make it even faster?

Go test drive an ITR then you will be able to decide for yourself.

 

.... depends if your mom and daddy will pay for it.

 

then he would have to worry about thieft so much more...
And as for the civic its nice close to rice but not yet, If it moves why don't you shed some weight from it, stiffen up the suspension and try getting on the track with it before you decide to sell it or track it the way it is and see how it does- Then maybe you could find a nice R owner and go on the track with him for a lap or two?? and see the difference, In no way will the R be worse it just will be very different then what your used to.
Yo sum this up: go for a ride in an R and see if you could deal with it.

maybe testdrive one first - its not easy to find out everything in one drive, but will give you some idea

 

Dear god yes. The first time you get an ITR on an open road and open her up you'll ****, ****, and jizz yourself in one instant bodily function. That's how great it is

Edit: This is all assuming you don't put one of those stupid grills on the car and an assload of stereo garbage. Keep your civic... seems more your style An R is a big boy's car.

If you like drag and beating unsuspecting sport car drivers, stick with your car.
If you've decided to move in on a wider world of motorsports, start with an R.

If I were you: ditch the turbo and get a legit R swap. Fine tune and gain confindence on autox and move down to circuit racing. You won't even look back at street/drag because you will find them boring. After circuit racing, go Rally.

especially with all that heavy 'Sound' equipment..

sorry i had to vent. they sold me a grill that was supposed to be pre-cut but in reality needed TONS of trimming, WASN'T painted in the color i asked for, RUSTED OUT in less than a week, and he NEVER responds to e-mail.

Do not believe the hype! The Type R is inferior to your car in every way, you really should not buy one. Please do not buy a Type R.
