Default 98 Civic Shut Off Suddenly

Hello all, I just need a little help with my civic.

I was crusing down a country road when suddenly my civic shut off. After a few minutes, I tried to start it up but nothing. When i give it gas, it seems like it wants to start but nothing.

I would prefer to do the work rather than getting a mechanic for experience purposes. Thanks in advance.

I would take a guess to fuel pump and/or fuel pump relay.

When it dies, and you turn the key to OFF, tuen it back on and listen for the pump to prime (behind you under back seat) Does it prime?

Based on your post, I will assume the starter cranks the engine.

Do the basic no-start diagnostics in this order:

Fuel pump priming, bright white spark, mechanical timing, and compression

Make sure your charging system is good.

Alternator cause that problem, too.

Thanks for the reply guy really helpful. The charging system worked perfectly and the first thing I did was to check if the timing belt was intact.

I'll check if the pump primes when I get home. I heard a clicking in the dash, but I'm sure that's the main relay.

I really don't know, that's the only thing I could think off. Not very creative compared to others I've seen.
