I have a 03 CRV, Standard transmission, Canadian EX model which means it has Daytime Running Lights. Today, after starting the car, I turned on my headlights and noticed the DRL dash light turned on as well. Unfortunately the Left headlamps High and Low beam did not turn on. Problem disappears if I turn off the ignition. Have replaced the headlamp, checked the fuse and swapped the left & right headlight relays with no change. Wondering if it is the Daytime Running Light module. Thanks.

 

Have figured out that the high and low beams work fine if the parking brake is engaged before turning on the the ignition or starting the car. If I then disengage the parking brake the left high and low beams go out and the right low beam stays on when I turn on the high beams. Reengaging the parking brake does not fix the issue unless the ignition switch is turned off as well. Headlights work fine without the ignition switch turned on. Sure feels like a DRL issue, but don't want to spring for one on spec.
