Threw a rod in my d16y8

I threw a rod the other day and I was wondering how much work and money it's going to take to fix it and rebuild it

Get a new (used) block. You can usually find them for $300 or less on craigslist or.the like

well if that's the case i might just get a whole new motor

FYI any 96-00 d16y8 will work. The only differences is the distributor (plug style), wire harness (distributor plug style), intake manifolds (96-98 & 99-00), and IACV (based on transmission). Try to get the motor from a car with the same type of transmission, then the most you'd have to do is swap the distributor if it's the wrong style plug.
