89crx hf won't crank. Need help
Ok so my Rex will not crank at all. When I turn the key to start. The only thing that happens is the main relay will click once. I got it to crank once but it won't crank any more. I've replaced the main relay. Still won't crank. I've reached up and and pushed the clutch switch in and had my gf turn the key. Main relay still just clicks and no crank. What can my problem be?
I haven't checked the ground to the starter yet. But from research I guess to test it. I need to loosen the 10m bolt that screws into the thermostat housing and hook up a wire to that directly from the neg post on the battery. Does that sound right?
Ok so just went out to the shop. Used a jumper wire from neg post on battery to starter housing. She cranked over a couple time but would not start. Tried starting a couple times and then it went back to not cranking even with that jumper wire still hooked up.
not cranking is the first issue that needs worked out. I would clean and check both terminals at the battery. Ground the starter FROM the starter to a good ground, you can use strut bolt to test. I still bet thats the cranking issue.
Ok so got it to crank over but it still won't start. Turns out I have a bad ground to my thermostat. Used a jumper wire and got it to crank. But it's still not firing up. Any suggestions on where to look now. I'm pretty sure I have spark. But I am getting a code 8 on my CEL?

I just had the same problem, mine was the distributor cap points, check that and if they have **** on it it means its getting no spark. Or it could be the rotor
