98 honda civic ex keeps almost wanting to stall (solved)
Hi I have a 98 honda civic ex sedan automatic with just over 183,000 miles. I just recently had to change the distributor and changed the wires as well but since then have noticed when stopped at a light the needle on the rpm gauge is real low and causes the car to feel like it's shaking like it wants to stall tho it doesn't. Also while driving the needle tends to move around a little it's never done that before. I changed the idle air control valve in March of this year. I currently do not have a check engine light on and car starts with no problem. Thank you for taking the time to read and will appreciate any thoughts or advice.
Sounds like your ignition timing is off a tad, perhaps when you put the dizzy back on. The slightest movement from where it was will cause the timing to change. Have a timing light handy?
Problem solved
Was the ignition timing being off a bit, also had to get a new idle air control valve, the one I had put in was a piece of crap and caused my car to buck which gave me an engine code.
