where would you suggest I find a new transmission?
An automatic transmission for a 2.3 accord 98-02
I have the bad shift solenoid code occasionally and the flashing D4. It sometimes doesn't want to come out of first gear until you manually shift it to "2".
I was thinking the local pull it yourself junkyard but those cars probably have 200k+ miles on them anyways. Are there any good importers that I could buy a transmission for 300-500 bucks? I'd assume the japanese transmissions would have much lower mileage.

there are junkyards that would have low mileage trans. u have to get into a junkyard network for find one. car-parts.com is one of them i think. they can find fenders and large body parts. also i would suggest getting one with at least a one year warranty meaning the thing has been inspected and isn't some already failing part.
or just get the solenoids off a junk yard trans. if the solenoids are anything like 5th gen (94-97) applying electric current to the solenoid u will hear a "click" on good solenoids. look up the youtube video on testing solenoids and try it
