Default Factory Interior Illumination Accessory?

Hey I Just bought a 2014 Civic SI coupe. One of the Factory Accessories was the Interior Illumination, Red LED kit and it is not even noticeable. Not that I want a bright red lit up interior but if I pay for a factory option, I expect something. It pretty much only reflects off the pedals.

Anyone else have this installed with different results?

The brochures at the dealership make them look like you could use them to guide landing aircraft to the runway though, don't they?!!

Seriously though, if you want the interior lit like in the brochures you will need a much brighter LED than the factory one. There is a thread in here somewhere that explains the swap procedure. Or maybe that was for the map light on the moon roof panel.

You don't need brighter LEDs per say, but rather to drill holes in the covers. The light emitted from the diode is rather weak either way but actually usable with the modified cover. There is a write-up already on this modification. This option is cheap and is worth it just for the factory plug and play wiring in my opinion. I don't necessarily agree with where they pull power from, but it at least looks stock.
