Default Gauge Cluster Needle Lights?

So I got most of the issues from when I got the 97 LX sorted out. The only thing now is that, I can't see my gauge needles at night now. The gauge backlights now work but I have a great difficulty seeing the needles. Are those supposed to be lit too? I tried two different dimmers and the original one wasn't even plugged in. I plugged it in and I will get a slightly brighter backlighting when I go over a bump that is focus on the tacho side of the cluster. Then I cycle the lights off and on, and it's back to normal. Lit numbers and such but I can't see the needles. Same with the working replacement dimmer. Any help?

Theres actually two lights that shine down onto the gauges. They might be blown out.

I had the same issue when I replaced all of my bulbs with blue LEDs. The one in the back and center of the cluster that supplies the power to the two top lights was installed backwards (polarity wise) so the two top lights didn't get any juice either. reversed it and all three, (back, and two top lights) were glowing bright blue!

Also that circuit that supplies the power to those two top lights is a series circuit so if that rear center bulb is burnt out the top lights will not light up.

There's no way to avoid it, but its simple to change the bulbs... Look up instructions on youtube.

But isn't it a bit of a ***** to get to the lights? Either way, I will do it. Unless there is an easier way, let me know. I'll take a look too.

Nevermind, I found a pdf to get them out. I'll see if it works out. And if it does, can I post it here?

Relatively everything is a pain to do the first time. Once you're "cherry is popped", the next time around will be painless!

True... I can have the cluster out in less than 10 minutes now a days. I have done it enough on my car and my wife's car.

Sure, if you find information, always post it here, so that the next person can have more help. That is why these forums are so awesome! I am able to do EVERYTHING on all my vehicles because of forums. H-Tech is one of the best!

Lucky. Lol. Now I need to get the bulbs for my car. Yay trips to autozone... lol

Yeah for the longest time, I had a Protege with next to no aftermarket support so I was kinda stuck there. Forums probably got updated once a week for it... Yay for the 97 Accord. I can actually do stuff to it with some ease.
