01 Civic ex 2 door manual

Will fire run for 1-3 seconds then dies tried to run it of starting fluid and fuel to the intake and same effects. Has spark to all for coils amd plugs im lost have no idea where to start im mechanically inclines but im thinking its a sensor of some sort and its pushing my brain... shows no codes on the scanner except the cat. Converter code cause I have it unplugged cause im not running a cat.

 

I first thought the fuel pump relay might be only engaging for 1 to 3 seconds then giving out. You claim it wont run on starting fuel, well that may be because it needs adequate fuel PSI to run and spraying fluid down the throttle isn't adequate. I would try swapping the fuel pump relay with another relay to rule out the relay failing by its own accord. I would try and test the fuel PSI with key on and engine off. I would also check the fuel pump regulator. If it is vacuum operated it may be failing once engine vacuum is attained when the engine starts.

 

never use starting fluid if you suspect a fuel related problem, use a carb or injector cleaner spray. starting fluid is hard on the engine due to abnornmal combustion pressure.
a car will run on a cleaner spray as along as you keep spraying. fuel psi is not an issue with cleaner sprays.

 

Tried with a different relay with the same male connectors but no luck but who know if that relay is the same internally could this be a security issue or ecu ignition etc. Did a compression test and it was fine it just has me lost

 

Also when I give it gas while starting it will increase acceleration but after 1 to 3 seconds it goes to a dead pedal

Fuel pump under the back seat.

 

Check timing it may have jumped a tooth. That will cause a start/die situation. It's also easy to visually check by taking off one cover...
