Best brake option for 520whp rotrex k24 itr using 15" wheels (with video)
So I've been using my itr for time attack since 2010 and the car has progressed along quite well. I'm finally running out of brakes. The car has a built k24 with a kraftwerks supercharger, hoosier 245/580/15 slicks on rota slips 15x8 +40 with a 10mm spacer and the stock brakes just aren't enough. I'm currently using hawk dtc70 and i think its time to move up to something a bit more serious. The big problem is I don't want to go to bigger wheels and I have two sets of the rota's and I don't want to buy two sets of wheels with better caliper clearance.
What are some recommendations from people that are currently using bigger brake kits with 15" wheels
Here is an in car video to give you guys an idea what the car is all about, don't mind the mis shifts i had a failing pressure plate which has since been replaced!

The second banner actually does a wonderful job at blocking the sun on sunny days. It does not impede my vision whatsoever. Believe me if it was blocking my vision it would be gone.
Check with Fastbrakes..he has a very nice Wilwood 4 Piston Caliper setup that will use a 294mm Mini Cooper Brake Rotor and will fit under some (not all) 15" wheels.
I have used something similar on my race cars for the last couple of years and couldn't be happier

What wheels do u have your setup under?
its a 06 k24a2 08 k20z3 head, 06 tsx cams brian crower springs and retainers, carillo rods, cp pistons 11:1, skunk2 pro series intake manifold and 74mm tb, ktuned ram header, 3" exhaust, kraftwerks race kit with c38-71 charger making approx. 16psi
oh and before I spend a bunch on a brake kit I'm going to try some legend gs caliper brackets and legend gs rotors. same diameter but 28mm thick instead of 23mm
Wow, thats awesome! Decnt amount comp w/ a decent amount of boost seem to be working well, very cool!
I am also curious as to what setup is best to fit under a 15" wheel. I am determined to make a bracket to use S2000 rear rotors and our rear calipers as I don't think most of us will ever need a vented rear rotor. The front however, I would love to use a rotor around the 12" range still with the stock or Spoon calipers. I'm all for cost effective and trying to work with what is already there.
i've got 12" two piece rotors up front with spoon single blocks
dan at rcrew can adapt many of the higher quality brembo or alcon calipers to these rotors.

I have a K20 CRX with a 5 lug and weld pro-stars. Seems to be a lot of room between the barrel and the caliper. There are rally wheels that create room there also. I had Enkei RCG4's that may have been able to fit S2000 brakes into them.

Just adding more info to this thread is all.

Pad wise, I'd start looking at the Raybestos ST compounds. Maybe try the ST43 or (as luck would have it) I was reading today that they have a couple compound ranges with even higher torque..

Porterfield custom cuts the Honda applications so make sure to give them a little lead time.

The traction looks pretty good on those slicks, I may try a set.
