98 Accord, Rack & Pinion Boots torn up
98 Accord, Rack & Pinion Boots torn and just sorta hanging there.
Is this serious?
Do I just replace them and call it good?
Can I ignore this for a while while tending to other issues?

Are you saying torn boots are serious and belong at the top of my "stuff that needs fixed list."
I considered that last to be a brief, legitimate answer.

I've left torn R&P boots till I felt like it - don't get me wrong dirt/sand/ect on the shaft that then run into the "seal" is not a good thing but if there is more pressing things, they can wait.
When you do decide to change them - I suggest getting them from the dealer. Aftermarket ones just don't seem to fit right, at least this is what I have found on the 5th gen's - not sure on your 6th gen.

Thanks guys, what I needed to know. Been driving vehicles with big cast iron steering boxes, this R&P thing is new and haven't developed perspective. So, not good, but not urgent. Good to know about the boots, LA. I'm new to Hondas and have been finding that there are things like that.
The RF suspension is making clunking noises over bumps, but whatever it is, it's tight enough to not respond to human arm strength pushing and pulling on stuff. So, I'll attend to that first.
I've got a check engine light and a code reader coming in the mail. Otherwise this recent purchase runs great. Just have to prioritize and deal, as time and funds permit.

Might wanna look at your sway bar end links for the clunk, I just fixed the same issue on 97 CL. And I also put on new rack boots because i needed them to pass inspection, it's a big job in that your have to remove your outer tie rods, the alignment nut on the inner tie rod AND get an alignment when you're done. Real pain for a not so serious part.
